As you can imagine, the Jubilee Center has been closely monitoring the developments regarding COVID-19. In alignment with Hoboken Public Schools, the State of New Jersey and the City of Hoboken, the Jubilee Center will be closed from March 16th – March 27th, at a minimum. This closure will likely extend further as testing increases and more cases are discovered in New Jersey.
As a result, this closure, and the accompanying loss of income, is particularly devastating for our dedicated staff whom Jubilee families entrust with the health and safety of their children every day.
We are asking you to give anything you can to the Jubilee Center during this difficult time.
While a one-time gift is fantastic, a monthly commitment would be even more sustaining to our organization. Your donation will enable us to continue to pay our staff during this crisis, and ensure that we can return to providing high-quality, out-of-school time academic enrichment when the Jubilee Center re-opens.
As the City of Hoboken and Hoboken School District work to reduce the spread of COVID-19 by closing public meetings and schools, the Jubilee Center will also suspend its after school program.
Over the next few days, we will be in touch with the Mayor’s office and the Housing Authority to see if there are ways we can be of help to the community during this difficult time.
In the meantime, I invite the community to email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you know of anyone that has needs that aren’t being met while the schools are closed, or if you want to offer your help in some way. As ongoing circumstances are unpredictable, we want to be a part of keeping the community safe. We can all get through this together if we look out for each other.
And lastly, our Summer Open House scheduled for Thursday March 26 will now be a video event. We will send more information and a link to register for the summer before that date.
Thank you and be safe!
